Our partnership with City of Liverpool FC creates a fantastic pathway for our players, giving them opportunity to progress into adult football at a high standard.

The relationship was formed in 2018 and has seen several graduates from the College progress to the Purps first team. Dallas Cup winners John McGrath, Tom Stevens, Jack Hazelhurst and Owen Wheeler form the spine of Robbo’s team. In 2019/20 Luke Partington and Alex Murphy stepped up to join the first team squad.

We participate in the FA Youth Cup against National League and Football League clubs giving the youngsters a chance to measure themselves against the best young players in the country.

Coach, Todd Blayney, said, “The top players we attract compete in the best youth development league In the country outside of academy football. On a weekly basis, you can see how the players are being stretched. Every game is a test physically and tactically, providing a great grounding for them to take their next steps in the game.

A Message from the Chairman

The Liverpool city region produces more professional footballers per head than any other British city, more child and youth soccer players and more amateur footballers. It is accurate to say Liverpool is a hot-bed of football.

The relationship with the college represents a pathway to the first team which we really value and the players who have come through already bear testament to that. It is credit to the college and the coaching team how the young lads have stepped up into the first team.

We are looking forward to continuing this strong relationship and seeing what the future holds.
